I have built many but this will be my first to live in. Every thing melts and hose it down. Makes for such a nice environment to work in, even in the winter.

Is there a subfloor put down in the garage for the Gypcrete or is that just the photos? Do they prefer to have that over slab?

Are they requiring sprinklers out your way now or just an extra?

Looks like fun man, love to see in person someday.

The garage has a structural floor with living space under it. We did this because the home is built on a steep hill. The rooms under it have walk out patios. We will pour normal concrete floors in the garage as opposed to gyp for strength.

Our community does require sprikler systems, not a cost you want to have to pay unless you really need it.

Yea, I know I had a 5500sq house I did the client thought they wanted sprinklers. Economically engineered out when they saw the price.

Some Chicago suburbs are playing with requiring systems in all new construction.

I think I need to specialize!

Thank you for all the updates, I have been enjoying watching your progress for a while now
Still need another 2 years before I get to build my dream house, but I have already gotten some great ideas from watching your place, that dog shower in the garage is genius!

Same here, I am just following this in awe. Keep up the good work. Are there plans for a home theater (under the garage according to the floor plan)?

Good to have you on board, and glad you are enjoying!
