Yes not a cheap endeavor! But since I do it for a living we are saving huge chunks of cash on discounts and calling in lots of favors. This has allowed us to really go for it on design. Thanks for your kind words.

That said you live in one of the most amazing places in the world! I have never been but it is at the top of my list to visit and maybe someday live.

Good to hear that you are saving some money.
Well the design is fantastic, the home is a credit to all who have put in the hard work,if i was to get my dream home built it would look a lot like this for sure!
As for living in New Zealand, it is great,i have been many places in the world, but there is something about New Zealand that is very special.
Although i must say where you live doesnt look too shabby to me!
Anyway keep up the good work, looking forward to more pics of the house, and i have to say the GT3 as well lol.
Enjoy all in the best of health!
Rob.

Thanks for all the guys who have worked so hard to build my house! Great group, I could not do it with out them.

Yes not a bad place to live, but to have the ocean as close as you kiwi's do would be amazing.

The GT3 is out of storage and I hope to have a nice day to get it out for a drive this weekend!!

lager99 is infamous around these parts
This thread continues to give me a woody.....it is awesome. This is one of the best thought out, 1st class, no corners cut construction I've seen & very nicely documented. Well done. I love Sapele doors...looks like that's what they are from the picture.

Wow, thank you!

Very close call on he sapele, it was our second choice and you are actually looking at African mahogany.

More pics soon, we finished the garage heat and slab pour on Friday, most cabinets are in and wood trim to start soon.

I was slow on pics this week because I took a few days off to go down to Porsche driving school in Alabama AWESOME!!!

Flew down.
If you guys have not done this it is a great time and well worth the dollars. Seemed costly but after the first hour I was pumped. Learned so much, the instructors are the best. I think I will do this once a year from now on!

More pics

Some kitchen shots, if you have been following you will remember the concept of going modern or loft like on the iterior of an old mine building.
Very clean lines on cabinets.

The island will have a concrete top and the countertops will be granite.
There is still a bit more to go on the island as it also has a bar top that will be glass
