More pictures,

Insulation is in, we used a recycled cellulose it is basically newspaper! Huge r values and very green. We also chinked every hole. My goal is to break the $500 month gas bill to heat 9k square feet. only time will tell.

Mountain, I think your house is amazing, I would kill for a five car garage. I am sure that your Porsche will be very happy staying with you and not being shipped away each winter.

As for heating the house, I have a 5400 sq ft house and I spend about $250/ month heating and cooling. $500 should be doable (assuming energy prices are the same).

Once again Beautiful house!

You guys sick of it yet? Hope not just getting fun!

outside fireplace wrapping up

wine grotto stone staring at the bottom

notice the white tubes on the walls this is heat to keep the walls warm and cozy in the entry.

stone goes all the way to the top and sits on the large piece of steel at the opening.

Ok believe it or not we cleaned out the garage today after drywall was hung and will start prepping it for the fun finishes very soon. First on the list is drying in the floor as it is over living space, then comes the heated floors! Pics to follow.

Have you ever considered a geothermal heat pump? I would consider having one in my house but soil conditions (discontinuous permafrost) and little cooling load prohibit me from considering it where I live. But in most of the country if there are proper soil conditions they seem to be economical.
