Out of Control Garage Project "Before"

We live on the side of a hill. The "original" scope of the project was to replace the 2 car carport with an enclosed 3 car garage for the daily drivers and replace the old broken down wooden deck (to the right of carport in pics ... sorry for the bad pics I had no intension of doing a before & after) with a solid deck that would act as a flat roof for the toy garage to be built on the lower level under where the existing deck was and replace the walkway down the hill with a driveway. The 3rd pic is looking back up the walkway, to be drive, from under deck and the 4th pic is the view where the new drive would go to get the toys under the new deck.

Needless to say the project got out of hand ... in a BIG WAY

Out of Control Garage Project "After"

The entire project more than went 3x over ... including the new kitchen the wife extracted out of the deal, after I got the OK and we began, and about another $200k + in other mods ... not to mention there was never any stone in the original scope ... but of course we could not find a brick to match.

1st pic is about where the Audi was parked in the other pics and is the drive leading down the hill about where the former walk was. The 2nd is looking back up the new drive about where the walk was. And the new toy garage is now where the old wooden deck was.

Moral ... careful what you ask for ...

I like what you did. The only thing I would change is the garage door. I would make it all glass.

I would prefer to be a little more subtle Not to mention I am gone a few months out of the year ... glass doors would be like a show case of trophies for the bad guys out there. I also went to great lengths to make that garage not too visible from almost 90% of viewing angles ... it is on the same side of the house as the 3 car garage ... 5 bays of garage doors is not that attractive.

You might notice in the 1st pick in the "after" posting ... right across the small lake is the 18th green and club house ... so I did not want that to be their view ... bad enough when I fire off the track car everyone on the 18th hole, green and the practice green next to it all come to attention ... and the tee box is right behind the toy garage ... I sure am popular when I turn the key on

The white car in the 'before' pics is a GT3, however, the track car in the new garage is neither a GT3 or a Cup, even though it has a GT3 rear bumper. It a '06 Carrera S that was totally built out by Synergy Racing and will race in the GTB class. If you are interested in their build program their site is http://www.synergyracing.com and look at the 997 Comp Program section.

Now I understand why you had me give you so many measurements in regards to height and width. From all of the headaches you expressed to me about the project I would say your attention to detail prevailed.

That is a beautiful office you have there to wash the cars in. Can not wait to see it in person.
