You're spot on there.. I'm keeping the Factory Five 'un-finished' this winter - partly because I don't have much time lately with a 19 month old at home and partly (maybe mostly) because I don't want the 'project' part to end.

Thanks.. don't get tossed at work!

Absolutely no progress on the car.. raising a baby - at my age - takes most of the energy I have.

Hoping to get back to it one of these days.

Cheers.

I know- I once started reading this thread at work and looked up a few hours later. One of my favorite projects on here so far.

Wow, what an amazing garage/man cave. Jealous!

Maybe a little off topic, but may I ask what gaming seat/TV setup you have there? (the framing of it and stuff.)

I've you've thought about it, it's in there.

Having seen it in person a couple of times it's heaven on earth.

Thanks Ben (hope you guys are doing great!).

Yes, there is a ductless A/C system upstairs.. I SHOULD HAVE thought of putting another one downstairs as it can get a bit toasty in the afternoon as we face SW.

Oh well, I've barely been there in months so it matters not!

No worries!

The seat is from a New Zealand company - Vision Racer

Updated U.S. page: http://www.simroom.com/products/simulators/vr3-rigs
Review: http://www.gtplanet.net/visionracer-vr3-review/

Bought it on ebay and saved $100

You get the seat/frame/steering wheel mount/shifter mount in one big box shipped from Cali. Came in 5 days.

PS3, TV, Logitech G27 wheel/pedal/shifter set are extra.

It's a very good seat - there are better ones available, but at least 2 times the price.

ps.. one may run an LCD on their optional LCD mount: http://www.visionracer.com/products/...-display-stand

I couldn't find a mounting plate adapter from 100mm to 200mm to allow me to run a larger LCD so I ended up putting my LCD and the PS3 on a 'Slim' metal table we had lying around: http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/prod...ductGroup=3194

They have now since resolved that oversight! http://www.simroom.com/products/part...00-adaptor-kit
