Very well done - thanks for sharing.

With the tire rack, is it difficult to remove the tires without moving car out of garage and/or doing it alone? TIA.

Here are some more pics of the Garage Door tracking.. The Lift Master is the red unit on the other side of the door.

I also posted another picture of the rack.. It is a 1 man job if you can reach the bottom of the rack.. With the remodel I put it up so that the bottom was about 7' off the ground. Now I have to stand on my lift to get them down, but I wanted them out of the way for the cabinet, etc.

nicely done! Curious, what are the actual dimensions of your garage?

Cheers,
Scott

OP: Did the lift require any work to the concrete; I noticed it isn't bolted down. What model is it and how much did it run you? Did you have it installed, or did you do it yourself?

Thanks.

No work needed. My Garage pad is between 3"-4".. which is ample for this lift (Not a 2 post though)
After a good bit of research I bought an Eagle GLO-8000
http://www.eagleequip.com/page/EE/PROD/LI-SS/GLO-8000

This does not require bolting down and infact is not really recommended. The set-up comes with casters so you can actually move the lift around assuming you have the room to do so..
I installed it with a few friends, it took about 4-5 hours. I'm very pleased with the product and service I've received with it.

To answer a couple of questions.:

The Tire Rack is from The Tire Rack. I've had it for a few years and it works well. I think it was about $130. (Blurry Pic below)

The garage company simply put extensions on the door that pulled it away from the wall a few inches then extended straight up. They then used my existing 90 degree bend and horz. bars. Additionally they had to put larger door springs in to accommodate the balance of moving the door straight up as it is heavier than being moved immediately horizontal. Finally they put in a LiftMaster 3800 Shaft driven opener. You can find alot of posts about this opener on this and other forums.. This is a great opener!. Smooth, quiet,.. It is required for opening a door in this fashion. All in All the Garage door reroute, install, & Opener was just under $1K. The opener alone was 1/2 of that.

I can get better pics if you'd like. Just let me know.
Nice, did you buy the option center lift w/rollers; cause I noticed you took the wheel off w/the car still on the lift?

No.. They want too much for their system. I bought an additional Jack Plate (lift comes w/ 1) and purchased a low profile (4" high) scissor jack from Harbor Freight for $55. It runs on 12V and has a remote to operate. Pretty slick set up.. I'm buying a second one now that I know it works so that I can lift the entire vehicle off the lift.

ugh this is perfect for me! sorry for the double post but I'm really excited now that I've seen a smaller garage look this good.

1 question about your lift. your last pic you have the front wheel off of the car. What did you have to buy for that (I'm assuming you had to further lift up the car to remove the wheel right?)?

Nice make-over.....

Unfortunately instead of a garage make-over I had to thumb out for a kitchen make over which turned into new flooring for the rest of the house, all new appliances (SS of course), laundry room make over, and of course the house being painted... I can only imagine the garage might have cost 1/4 of that....

Glad to enjoy others garages... But then again I do have a shop garage..

Thanks.. The lift comes with a jack plate (I got an additional one). I used a 12v powered scissor lift I bought from Harbor Freight for about $50 to lift the car off of the lift. Works Great!
