Shipping Container Garage?

Hi Guys,

An architect / builder buddy of mine inherited a few old shipping containers. He has always wanted a "man cave" garage and hangout place so he went ahead and did rehab and insulation in preparation to do a cool garage buildout. Other people have started to see what he is doing and asked if he could build one for them.

For most applications, a proper foundation would have to be poured. He has a civil engineer ensuring building codes are met.

What do you guys think? Is there a market out there for a turn-key garage that you can just buy and have dropped onto your property?

Are they wide enough to open car doors and still have room to move around in?

Check this out for a little inspiration. Not garage's, but people have done some impressive things with shipping containers.

Combine two and cut out the middle walls? That would be a lot of space....

Not so bad idea, mainly if doors open on both sides

Neah. Its cool for short period of time but it would get old quick. Just like 2 tone kitchens or similar.

A buddy of mine did it earlier, I recall him having to remove it from the property due to zoning ordinances.
