Tires, Rims, Garage, Oh My!

I've got a set of HREs, SSRs, and Volks each sitting in a different part of my house.I have stock wheels for two vehicles stacked in my Garage. I have wheels stashed at my moms house even. With another set of wheels on its
way I really need to figure out a system.

Does anyone know of a system/rack/whatever that I can use to better store lots of rims/tires?

Griots Garage sells a mount you can use for wheels that mounts to the wall.

There are other ways of making a rack system, but one of the best ways is to have storage that can be raised to the ceiling if you dont have the space elsewhere.

why don't you just stack them up til it hits ceiling? I would be very cautious about parking my car underneath a few hundred (maybe a thousand) pounds of loads. Just put cardboard boxes in between the wheels to prevent scratches. I know it's not the most appealing but you didn't mention looks. Let us know what you come up with. Goodluck

I have a rack for my tires, I just searched the wonderful internet for a few minutes and found it about two years ago. I think it was a like $300 delivered. Works well, only problem is I have more tires and rims than the rack can hold!! I have to see if I can get a third tier for it. I will try and find where I got it from.

Yes, thats what i was thinking. My biggest concern is rim damage when i take the blingy rim/tires off for track and put them up. But that design is pretty close to what i was going for.

You can't really see them but I have some round cardboard pieces in between some of my blingy rims for protection. Obviously, just be careful when putting them on/taking them off and you won't scratch 'em.

I have a few of those too, but I got the from a local tire store a friend owned, another this is to build one like one ones linked that mount on the wall. I also use stock wheels (ones I don't wan't to get rid of, "just in case") stacked up and lay a sheet of wood over them, makes a solid base for shelves.

I looked for a few minutes and could not find it. The search continues and I will certainly post when I do find it.

Just stack them to the roof, put a bit of cardboard in the middle of each.

If you wanted to go baller status, you could have a setup fabbed that would mount to the wall and hold the wheels against the wall. Outlandish, yes, cool, yes.

Sorry, Its the mech. e. in me.
