Good color for garage walls?

im thinking of doing British racing green on the bottom and yellow on the top half w/a checker stripe seperating the 2 colors. not sure what type of flooring im getting in there yet.

White is too stark for me (although above garage looks great!)
I like grey (with red stripe idea) or other softer tones.

where r u guys stopping w/the bottom color? what height? im about to start painting and im having a hard time determining where to put the checker strip.

If you want to display the cars properly in the garage (or if you do any car care/detailing), stick with neutral colors for floors, walls and ceilings. The walls and ceilings will reflect light in the garage and you don't want to cast colored hues/shadows on the vehicles. You can pick up your colors in the details....moldings, cabinets, etc.
