One word:

SUNDEK

www.sundek.com

Sunstamp is probably one of the best products ever made in terms of Stamped Concrete Overlay, and this company started Decorative concrete back in the 1970's. Been in business for 37 years.

GREAT STUFF!!!.

Hope this helps.

I used Kleeman to decorate my driveway. Wifey got a bit upset.

We looked into stamped concrete but we have a huge driveway. I also need to plow in the winter and felt good old asphalt would be good enough. I'm not worried about the stripes because this is only the binder coat. Top coat will be done after the heavy equipment is done.

I did Old Chicago Brick at my house and I love it. It's installed on sand, so water drains RIGHT thru it after you wash the car. Very low maintenance and looks great.

Can you use a jack on pavers? Or will it sink the pavers from the weight?

Not a problem as long as it's all installed correctly...my landscaper friend who did mine parks a 20,000lb dumptruck on his driveway every night and no problem after 5+ years.......and as far as a jack.....even if you cracked one...you just make sure they leave you 20 or 30 spares....you could remove it with a penknife and replace it in about 30 seconds......

Not to mention how easy it is to make changes or add to your driveway with the (brick) pavers.

Good to know. I've been ruling out pavers, but from your responses, it seems to be no problem. Thanks.

Depends on where you live and weather. In the wet NW. replaced the pavers w/stamped concrete b/c weeds would grow through constantly, then they would get mossy. Don't believe you would have that issue in So. CA. then you could also install a weed barrier under the pavers too.

it's definitely wet here in Miami as well, but my gardener uses roundup to take care of whatever springs up.

If you go with stamped concrete, make sure they include some sand or grit in the sealing coat. If they seal it without this, it will be VERY slippery when wet.

My only issue with concrete, stamped or not, is that eventually you will get cracks in it, and I hate cracks. I went with pavers on my driveway because they don't crack and a single paver can be easily replaced if need be.

Here is a picture of my driveway with pavers....

Why would you not install a weed barrier in the NW? With the underlayment you should not have any issues with weeds. If you have a moss problem, you should have that problem with a regular or stamped concrete driveway as well.
