the 700 lb weight savings alone a huge for performance.
It's not as easy to get a sequential tranny car out of the hole as a 6speed or tip car so it may not be far off. Put one of C&D's 60 year old, inexperienced, overweight test drivers in there and the 12.9 is not outside the realm of possibility.
The trap speed is indicative of what we all already know, up top the Cup has more ***** than it's street counterpart.

no ****, but with that power to weight a 12.9 sounds ridiculous
A 12.9 sec 1/4 mile with a trap speed of 124 does not sound right. Trap speed of 124 should be in the mid to high 11's.
But as was said before this is not a drag racer but a road racer.

this car is all about maintaing momentum on the track... i think cup cars are relatively slow of the line... until about 5000rpm...and second gear...then BYE BYE!!
this is not from my experience just an observation.. and from chats with cup drivers...

u engage the clutch the same as would a 6 speed,, so that shouldnt matter... these cars have sooper light flywheels and sticky puks... so thats the problem.. altho.. they are pretty much built with standing still starts in mind.... ide bet money the fast guys in supercup could hop in and bust an 11 no problem..
but c&d drivers.... ehhh.... they are pretty much sooper lame....
this test was dont with a farnbacherloles car rite? so maby Roger can get in here and let us know why they couldnt launch it real good...
124mph trap is good for low to mid 11s 1/4 mile time. It just tells you there were some major problems putting the power down or getting the car off the line. With C&D in mind, I would place my money on the latter...
And who even gives a *** what that car does on 1/4-mile...?

Is this the same car that was at RA a few weeks ago? That car had some some serious wreck damage, or at least some very off body panels.
I havent seen the article, what kind of tires was the car on? If you combine street tires with track spec aligment you'll never get a good time from race cars, this is always the case. But they did suck a little extra than they should have. I'm surprised at the lateral G's on the skipd pad, which makes me think it wasnt on slicks, at least hot ones.
