Mello Yellow wears black condoms

Got this idea from Fred (Petfrog), but my costs were more economical (to me). Picked up (20) 3/4" vacuum caps @ $.18 each at a local hardware store (Marshall's). Cut them down to size by slipping them over a 1/2" plumbing pipe to get a clean cut. Slip them over the bolts and walla.

To get them out, use a computer chip extractor.

A must for those with black wheels. I'll let you know if they hold up at 140

Hey Mellow Yellow I like what you've done. That is a nice feature to disguise the lugs. Love your car.

I'd like to put the vinyl stripe on the wheels of the RS, where did you get these vinyl pin stripes? If you could past that along I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you and keep working on that beautiful car,
GT3Ranger...Juan

Hey Juan,

Wow, an RS along with all your other exotics. Very nice. Here's where you can get the stripes...

The smallest ones they have is 1/4". I used a splitter to get it to 1/8".

Not as stunning as yours in person when I met you at LS. You are the catalyst for my mods.

Very good idea. I doubt they'll come off as these rubber pieces don't have enough mass to fling themselves off plus they should have enough "traction" on the lug nuts themselves to keep this from happening.

These caps are used in the R/C (radio controlled) model industry particularly for covering the openings on the engine carburetors and exhaust pipes. The sizes you'll find at hobby shops will probably be too small to fit on these lugs nuts. You'll probably need to go to a hardware store as Juha did.
