Unhappy Autoweek claims $281K US for GT2 !

I posted this in the 997TT forum a few minutes ago. Received my 12/10/07 Autoweek and GT2 article states that GT2 will run $189,466 Euros or approx. $281,000 US (base). Can anybody verify these numbers ?

I hope it's not true because if that's the case than that car is dead to me. While I love it to death at that price I'm just not sure.

I think they're taking mark up into the equation.

I've seen $191-192K all over the place. And even at that price I think its absolutely absurd.

I'm sorry, but no street watercooled 911 is worth $200k.

Curious...why not? Super limited, earth shattering performance. A F430 Scuderia is more than that. I don't know...I like the fact that Porsche is trying to keep things somewhat exclusive again with the GT2 and RS. Would love to hear other people's opinions.

how can people say the GT2 is not worth 200K? Look at its competition...it is a bargain.

Rest assured... The base price of a 997 GT2 is €189,460 in Europe. You could even check the German Porsche site.

In the U.S., the base price will be $191,700, just as JOE GT2 said.
