Single most fun mod for the GT3
To be honest, I hardly notice it...its certainly not the racket the CGT makes
The LWFW was included with the Club Sport Package. The was never available in the US mkt.
The standard setup was used b/c its quieter and makes the car easier to drive. Something marketing thought was important for the US consumer... just like the cupholders.

Totally agree with #1 on any track car. What gear changes specifically?
Lightweight flywheel / Throttle Speed
If you think the engine rev's faster in the RS just get the Revo programmable ECU upgrade and adjust the throttle speed setting. It is set very slow from the factory. When we doubled the setting the engine blip's when you snap the throttle now. It is so much faster reving and I can shift much faster. I always felt the throttle speed was slow on the car. When we got into the ECU we found it was set at 2 on a scale of 10. I would say as much an improvement as the lightweight flywheel. Don't know if GIAC adjusts that but we did with the Revo, that's why I like that program. I used Mike at Stuttgart Performance to program my car. What a difference. Looking back the GT-3 RS motor seems enemic before the ECU flash. It's really needed if you run aftermarket exhaust system otherwise your not getting the power out of the engine. Exhaust without tuning is a half finished job. You need to tune to the exhaust you are running. Steve

The spacing between the first 3 gears are too long and are not optimized for the best gear change sweetspot on the 6-GT3. Since 1st is problematic to change I went to lower ratios on 2-5 and moved my original 5th gear to 6th. Rothsport in Ore. worked out the ratios with Mind over Motorsport in San Diego. Top speed is basically useless unless you frequent the Autobahn but keeping the motor in the powerband with optimized gears on each shift when going hard is priceless.

I told my dealer that I suspected a hint of RMS. They suggested replacing the seal on warrantee and charged me the extra time it took to install the LWFW when I supplied the components since they were using all Porsche parts. It helps to have a good relationship with the service department.
Having driven the GT3 for 1700 miles and now having driven the RS, I have reached a conclusion. The single most fun mod you could do for the GT3 if you are so inclined, is to install the light weight flywheel.
The RS is so much fun to drive, because the engine revs so freely and willingly. It has altered the way I drive because I constantly want to rev it ! Light, nimble, and an engine that wants to be revved easily = big time fun factor.
The tach positively flys over, and the car responds differently. I don't know how much it would cost or how much is involved, but if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, its definitely worth it.
