Single most fun mod for the GT3
Having driven the GT3 for 1700 miles and now having driven the RS, I have reached a conclusion. The single most fun mod you could do for the GT3 if you are so inclined, is to install the light weight flywheel.
The RS is so much fun to drive, because the engine revs so freely and willingly. It has altered the way I drive because I constantly want to rev it ! Light, nimble, and an engine that wants to be revved easily = big time fun factor.
The tach positively flys over, and the car responds differently. I don't know how much it would cost or how much is involved, but if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, its definitely worth it.

Can anyone tell me what a fair price would be for that mod only, W/O a new clutch.
I paid around $2,500 for everthing installed. I asked for all Porsche OEM parts -- LWFW, pressure plate, clutch -- from the GT3RS so no complications and less risk of warrantee implications.
Great upgrade and well worth the $$$. I'd choose it over an exhaust if I had to choose between the two. Noticeably improved throttle response when down shifting and significant weight loss. Only downsides are 1) a little easier to stall from launch as expected w/ a LWFW and 2) noise from gearbox.

I have been in Mexico since the 6th and will not be returning until the 20th. However I did talk with the service manager at Sonnen a few days ago, they have the car completed and did not have to tear the motor down to accomplish the fix.
I'm pretty stoked about that. I will report back on my original thread once I get back, pick up the car and chat with the people at Sonnen.
