Vipers certainly dont have those things stock, and Hennessey is definitely not trust worthy, may try and make his car seem faster than it is by adding stuff under the table, I wouldnt put it past him.
In fact, I really beleive it because his name is involved.
How do you guys know that though? It's not easily visible, did winkler tell you?

PS- I got no dog in this fight (sadly), but its fun to watch as the 'king of the hill' gets knocked off his perch and all the trash talkin GT-R fanbois are running for cover. This is one of the most entertaining OLA's in recent memory. The ACR is running away on the road courses, living up to its billing as the new 'top dog' and that's just fact. I say this a Pcar/PCA member/owner for 15 years. It may not be the case next year, but this year the ACR owns everyone out there. That being said, the boneheaded move to screw the pooch on the wet skid likely sealed the victory (which should be graciously handed over to the ACR if they run the table on the track events) for the Pcar. As for the contention that noone is really dominating...how do you come from 46 to 2nd if you are not dominating? (You don't need to remind me that you won 1 event...the wet skidpad was the ACR was third on the dragstrip).
PS-Cheers to everyone who is participating...it looks like great fun. Good luck at the rest of the events. Don't break anything that can't be fixed.

I am amazed at how fragile some of the P car owners egos are. Somebody makes a lame *** accusation that the viper delivered a couple weeks ago has a steering angle-traction controlled system that is making it perform. It would take engineers months and months to get something like that dialed in and yet hennesey did it in a couple days. Wow. I think it may have excelled in the skid pad a lil better if that was true as well.
Come on and lose with a little dignity. The P car has dominated for a while and is a incredible car no doubt, but come on. I say the p car has the same super duper high tek system installed but is robbing too much power and that why the car is dying. It would be hard to see so I say its true unless someone dismanteles the car in front of me. (sarcasm).

We now have Viper fanboys too. I think it's been a little humble pie watching the TT walk the ACR on the straights, and would be even more if it wasnt having so many issues. The Viper is running the most power, the most downforce by far, it should win.
That makes more sense than coming up with a lame "super duper high tek system"
Come to think of it, would somone check to see if this is Z07? I think he's trying to pose as a Viper fanboy, too many characteristics of a GT-R fanboy.
If that is one of you, you'll be gone shortly

I am not any of those AE's. I have the same screen name on all forums. Do I like vipers? yup. Do I like porsches? yup. I like all fast and beautiful cars. I was making a point that losing or winning without excuses or what if's this or that is the way to go. Every viper fan could easily say if the viper wouldnt have gotten 43rd on the skid pad we would be killing everyone. Similarly if the porsche didnt have to restart while racing around the track they would be doing better as well. But the facts are what they are. If the porsche wins it will be another of many victories. But to say that the viper isnt running away with the road course competitions would be crazy.
Never said that, but I think the gap is extra big because the only car that can stay in the same zip code is having trouble.
And no one is making excuses. Leh is ACTUALLY DRIVING at the event, and I doubt he just made that up. He has no reason to make an excuse, he's doing as good as he can with what he has, he shouldnt expect to beat the ACR.
The Viper had problems last year which gave the win to the Porsche TT. Sucking at the skid pad would be an excuse, because that's just poor performance. Having probs with your car is not something you can control (most times) and not what I consider and excuse, the viper should have won last year. Coming in last on the skid pad when there is nothing wrong with your car means you SHOULD NOT win, but he still has a chance.
I'm a viper fan too, and will own an ACR in the next year or two. So when it comes to that I'm nuetral. It's hennessey's name involved that makes what leh is saying that much more beleivable, as his rep speaks for itself
From what I understand, they removed the rear sway bar on the ACR for the Wet Skid pad, and it turned out to be the wrong move. Live and learn.
The ACR is 9/9 for road races now. I hear that Davia got his new ACU and the car is running strong again, but still did not get the win against the ACR. With the Porsche running strong, it does not look good for the ACR winning overall.

Interesting info I just pulled from another forum...some more ammo HC...??

I have spoken to one of the R&T editors, who was kind enough to take the time to discuss the provenance of the GT-Rs used in testing. That conversation relates to this thread as follows: Nissan provided 3 GT-Rs for testing to the automotive press. A white, a silver, and a Black one. The black one was damaged somehow and was kept in reserve for parts. All three cars are US spec, but are definitely pre-production, and are classified as "engineering test cars", which is the only way they are legal for registration and operation on US roads. Once their lifecycle is done (90 days), they go to the crusher. This explains the caveats by C&D, and MT regarding the performance, and the extraordinary dyno result produced by the silver car.
That SAME silver car, with Michigan plates, is the one now competing in the One Lap. It is therefore NOT a production car, and if the dyno is any indication, is making a lot more power than the production car's certified 480.
I agree with Wanderer Z06 that this has no real bearing on the OneLap since it's a run-what-you-brung race, but the GT-R fanoys have been claiming all along that a production GT-R is outperforming the stock Z06s and that is simply not true.
The R&T editor also said that this car is causing a major ruckus in the auto press and that some mags are rethinking their testing procedures with respect to manufacturer-supplied vehicles. Automobile reportedly declined to test the Nissan at this time because the cars supplied were not production cars. Expect that trend to be followed by others henceforward, he said.
Wow! So not so stock huh?
But 112 mph? HAHAHAAHAH.
I will say that crushing japanese spec cars is a custom practice used by many of them, though they do not all get crushed all the time, this has been debated. But it's great that someone in the media is standing up to them and waiting for the real deal. I'd bet the car has a track alignment and not the production alignment reason it sucked so bad in the 1/4 mile. Because even with less power, the launch cant have been that bad two times to suck at 12.8 TWICE.
But I do agree with a production GT-R not being in the one lap, and the fact that it's not smog legal means they could be running even more power. And may be running it too rich hence the black smoke from the tailpipes. So they can toss the stock GT-R mantra out the window.
But I beleive this silver one is the one Road and Track tested to get 116 mph so it seems to be heat soaking or something reason it's losing power from even that trap speed.
