Porsche Roadside Assistance not covered at the track?

last month i had a belt issue at the race track and had the car flatbedded to a local dealer. just noticed my cc was charged for towing my car to the closest dealership. called up roadside assistance and they said its 'cos i was at the race track. wtf?

make them show you where their policy says race tracks are excluded... I don't know if I'd buy that story.

Push it to the entrance of the track, and then call them.

Sounds like a BS to me.

they loaded the car at the parking lot. not on the track. at the time, the roadside asst person that i spoke to on the phone said it's covered as long as i'm having it towed to the nearest dealership which is about 20mi away. it's not much. $120. i'm just wondering the unexpected charge and now they're saying its not covered when you have a breakdown at the track. heck, even the dealership fixed the car for free. parts and labor.

Isnt that what they want us to do with the cars. They sure market it that way. I would raise hell.

+1, There is no evidence that suggested that your car broke down due to the exercise it was getting on the track!

You were utilizing the car for its intended purpose, and if their warranty doesn't warrant it for its intended use - tell them you want your money back. The contract has an implied consent for intended use.

Keep me posted on what they say.
Good luck.

sear's point. TH would have been reeaally expensive given the nearest dealer is at least 100mi away. i don't have AAA but i guess i should join. so, AAA don't have this bs about not covered at the track?

to get the 100mile tow package form AAA, you have to be a standard member for at least 3 yrs. standard AAA towing is limited FREE for the first 20miles only.
