No mention of coming to the US. Personally I think the 997 just looks too UN-aggressive. Also don't like the Boxster-style center exhaust.

You can always relie on our good friends at Porsche.
Just when the whole forum "thing" begins to lose a bit of momentum, due to holidays and the fact that there is nothing really going on (well apart from Journoman trying to get a rise) they put their collective heads together and come up with a new GT3 "Exclusive".
What a master stroke! The new car will have the same engine as the 997S! No whiz bang suspension! Slower to 60mph! Faster at the 'Ring. Bigger Cup holders to accommodate the bladder busting Big Gulp for the Colonies! Greater ground clearance to make it possible to drive into Burger King and "Go Large" safe in the knowledge you will be able to drive out with your brake ducts in place! PCCB Sir? Why of course! Standard fitments on the "New GT3"
"Would Sir like wood trim on his steering wheel for the full authentic Pan Carrera feel? It is all the rage this year to match in with our real imitation 'Ring timing slip that is standard fit in the Glovebox!"
If you have a Mk1 my advice is to hold onto it. It is the purest of the breed and will become a future classic in the mold of the 73 RS (in my humble opinion).
Thank you Herr Doktor.

Paul,
As my esteemed co-author of the best seller:
"Speed Bump Strategies for GT2 and GT3"
just think how much those Big Gulp cup holders will do for our book's sales, with more GT3 owners headed to mcD's!!!!
Why we might make enough to buy more Ferraris!

Has AutoWeek been snookered?
A German source on another forum says that the car in the photo is actually a Gemballa (sp).
Now that I look at it again it makes sense - it does kind of have that aftermarket look about it.

Looks like an old 993 with some cheap boy racer bolt on junk on it, and I for one don't like they way it looks. I really do prefer our 996, the front of that car looks like all the lamps and scoops melted and drooped, putting all the principle features too low in it's nose.
What did catch my eye are the seats, are they CGT chairs?
Long live the 996!!
