Mike, I just went though this comparison. In favor of the 997 GT2 seat, it is safer with its integrated thorax airbag and can be tilted forward like 997 sports seats which is convenient for access behind the seats. Using Suncoast's pricing for comparison, the 997 GT2 seat is $4,500/set less expensive than the Euro 997 GT3 seat. Both will accept a sub bar and are 6 point belt friendly. According to Suncoast's web site the 997 GT2 seat is the same weight as the 997 Euro GT3 seat at 25lbs however I find that statement hard to believe given the GT2 seat has an airbag system and hinge mechanism the GT3 seat lacks? That said I prefer the clean look of the 997 Euro GT3 seat over the 997 GT2 seat, in particular the upper seat detail which is similar to the CGT. I also perfer a GT3 seat in a GT3. On merit and on price the 997 GT2 seat is the clear winner. On the "other factors" the 997 Euro GT3 seat is hard to beat. I bought the 997 Euro GT3 seats (awaiting delivery). The best deal around is the 996 Euro GT3 seat at $2,600 (from Suncoast). It has all the functionality of the 997 Euro GT3 seat with a different upper seat design for 25% of the price of the 997 Euro GT3 seat.

I commute 20 miles each way everyday, really PITA with the Clubsport. GT2 seats are suitable for everyday driving IMO. Now I really missed my old-stock sport seats.

I see where you are coming from. i am torn between GT2 vs GT3 club sports. can't beat GT2 seats' price and it tilts forward for easy rear access

Simon, love your GT3 seats

I know what you mean by PITA trying to commute in them. i have CSL seats in my M3 and it can be tiresome if i have to drive long distance but i still like them better than the OEM seats. the GT2 seats is an interesting option. will check them out at my dealer soon

I'm trying to decide between these two too. But there is nearly 5k difference, I don't know if 997 gt3 seats worth it. Plus the car is a daily drive, I've heard GT2 buckets are more comfortable.

Any more comments?

On your turbo you're better off with the GT2 seats. They are an option on your car plus they the backs tilt which would make it easier to access the rear seats. The difference in price makes it an easy choice in your situation to go for the GT2 seats.

You're right about the access to the back, but I'm not too worried about it. I barely use the back seats, and that happens if I have to. I don't normally like people at backseats on such a fast car.
