Track tires

I have a '04 GT3 and I run Michelin Pilot Sports. They are 4 years old...2 of of these years being in a box as I moved around. I need new tires...they are like hockey pucks right now. I am sure things have changed since I last bought track tires. Recommendations please!

Thank you.

Pilot Sport 2's or Pilot Sport Cups? Are you driving to the track? Look into Nitto NT-01's, they are as marginal for street/wet as MPSC's but last longer for track use (read more heat cycles)...Hoohoo's if you have a trailer...

good question. Sport Cups and I will use them for hard track driving. I will mount them at the track or drive on the, to the track...35 miles of highway.

that's no problem....I have driven 100+ miles to Laguna Seca, Sears Point, Thunderhill and Buttonwillow...tracked all day and driven home...as long as you don't encounter heavy rain on the way or at the track you will be ok...Nitto's are about the same wet/dry but heat cycle better and give good grip right down to the cords...plus, they are quite a bit cheaper...your call

Which would be the best size Hoosier?

I have a '04 GT3 and need new track tires. Stock front is 235/40/18. All I can find in the R6 are 245/35/18 and 245/40/18.

Recommendations?

Thank you,

Karl
