My new GT3

My new GT3
I picked up the new GT3 around 8 am today in Carlsbad (where we are relocating in a few months). Stopped by a place called MIS for a clear bra, and will be heading back to Scottsdale in a few hours to whittle down that break in period.
My initial reaction is WOW! Colin Chapman had it right when he said "keep it simple and add lightness". Most of my initial observations are related to my 2002 TT that is being shipped back east to a new owner here shortly.
- the precision of the handling is phenomenal
- the weight reduction can be felt at any speed
- the tranny is much more precise feeling as well
- the car sounds like a porsche should. it sounds like i imagine a 72 Carrera RS would have sounded when new.
- while the responsiveness and handling are awesome, the ride is more supple than a stock TT. wierd...
- the clutch pedal effort is higher, but makes modulation much easier than the TT pedal which seems to require no more pedal effort than what my grandma could have put down
- the interior quality is nowhere near as bad as I expected based on some comments on the board. i wish i had found a car with the full leather package. but, it's not my highest priority.
- the stereo sound is ok. nothing to write home about. but, the music comes from the back, so who gives a $hit.
- for some reason, I think the awd of the turbo numbs driver feel through the finger tips. i always felt that, with the TT, a computer was translating my hand motions to the wheels. with the GT3, my hands feel connected to the steering rods.
- the sensation of transition is also communicated much more clearly to the old posterior.
This was definnitely the right move for me. Can't wait to get through the break in period and explore the car's characteristics a bit more.
Yours in speed.

(sorry, don't like to use my proper name here. when my clients do a google search, over half of the references that come back are all car/racing related. so, i have been trying for two years now to change that ratio of car to business links. i'm maintaining at 50-50, which tells me that it would have been 25 business, 75 cars/racing had I not made the change.)

Very few options. Silver painted spokes on the steering wheel, mats, A/C... don't have the sticker in front of me. Is the aluminum shifter standard on the GT3?
Strange as it sounds, other than brake pads and possibly a harness bar, I intend to leave it stock too. Will pick up a second set of wheels for track tires. Otherwise, it'll stay stock. It seems to be designed perfectly for me as is from the factory.
Will post pics over the weekend. Right now I am at Starbucks supposedly working... while waiting for the clear bra install.

Congrats and welcome to the club!
It's nice not seeing one on every street corner, makes you feel like you've got something special...and that feeling is reinforced when you get behind the wheel.
Let's see some pics.
