Protecting front radiators on gt3

Any ideas how to protect the front radiators from debris?
I heard about a mesh used in the racing p-cars. If anybody knows where to get it ,please let me know. This is for 996 gt3,2004.
thanks, Jose.

GT-3 Inlet Grilles

Carnewal has them but quite expensive. Cargraphics has been promising me a set for months, no luck.

Thanks retsel75 and Justin.
Just went out for a drive and had significant amount of bugs to clear from the radiators. I think the inlet grilles is a "must'.
If a "group buy" takes shape, i'm in.
Again, thanks.

You're gonna gain so much weight even a full CF frame/body won't help you with the shootout. My loaner-Boxster can beat you.

How expensive for a set of bug screens?
How durable is it?

It is a royal pain to clean the radiator thru the slats.
Too narrow for vacuum cleaner nozzles.

Hmmm. Club racers just go to Home Depot and buy that wire mesh you use to keep bunnies out of your garden. It's always worked for me. I've never had a failure, and my race cars have been pummeled by rocks over the years from other drivers who've decided to go off track. We don't have grass off track around here. Just rocks.

Ahh... But the HD solution won't work on bugs...

I better check my radiators. I ran into a $hitload of bugs bringing the car home the other day.

How will screens help against bugs? You'll still have to clean the screens to make for adequate air flow.

That's true
Someone should design a bumper with a slit on the side for a bug screen to slide in&out. Makes for easy cleaning/replacement.

I wonder if the screen holes are small enough to catch bugs will it limit airflow at high speeds too. That'd be bad.

Need electric screens to zap bugs!

speedlingerie keeps the bugs out. It's a finer mesh(smaller holes)...while protecting the bumper cover and hood too.

yea I saw the speedlingerie. Is there potential cooling problem with those? It seems 70% of the air could just flow around it.

I haven't noticed any temperature increases/fan coming on more frequently. There is very little discernible air restriction...
