GROUP BUY? Carbon Fiber Lip for GT3 Front Bumper?

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/997/160172-group-buy-carbon-fiber-lip-gt3-front-bumper.html

I wanted to make sure everyone with a 997 GT3 knew about this group buy for a carbon fiber lower lip from our board sponsor. We already have a couple people interested, just need 10 total.

That's weird. It's basically the carbon fiber front lip on the GT3 front bumper through http://www.rotteccarbon.com/997carrera.php for $650-$850 depending on how many buyers we get.

Click on the link in my signature!

Let's do this Jenk!!! You should replace the air vent on your nose too for only $380. I have no affiliation with the seller, I just want in on this deal!

I am sorry but personally believe it is not a good idea or the price.
Have not seen a good picture of the product.

I would recommend a Cup car front spoiler (< $200) if you want a more aggressive look.

I wouldnt touch it just because its a sacrificial part. I thought my car was the $hit when I bought it because the previous owner had the lip painted white to match the car. I had the car less than a week when I went up a drive way that wasn't all that steep and ruined the paint.

You have to be careful! It should be noted, Oakley Design's carbon lip is kevlar reinforced.(it holds up better than the plastic one). It is also lighter and more aerodynamic.

My GT3 front lip is a consumable.... I would destroy this CF lip in a matter of days.

The picture of the lip that I saw in that link is an add-on to the regular 997 carrera bumper and not the lip that comes standard with the 997 GT3.

I understand CF GT3 front lip is not for everyone. Even OEM lip get destroy easily from normal driving. I've driven my lowered 996TT with CF aero front lip for almost 2 years. The front clearance is even if not lower than OEM 997GT3. It hold up real good but it require you be really careful and avoid to go some deep entence.

The pic shown is CF lip for standard 997 carrera front bumper. ATL suggest to test water and gather interest and produce CF 997GT3 lip.

Don't get me wrong, it will look badass, but my problem is not scraping the bottom. My problem is scraping the front of the lip on steeper driveways. Based on your experience with the 996TT, I'd like to know if the front overhang is longer or shorter than 997 GT3. When I look at the 997 GT3 it looks like the bumper is much longer than 996TT.

It's a longer overhang with the GT3 I'm afraid. I had a 996 turbo S with an aerokit front lip that still looked as good as new when I sold the car.

Here are 2 pic of my TT with aero lip and GT3, you can see my lip design has been extend forward for about 2". The nose is lower and longer than 997GT3 with RS lip. I will scrap the bottom of my CF lip once in a while, since I know it will happen. I've add extra materials at the bottom of each lip to re-inforce the structure and it will stand better with scrap.
