put on the track shoes today

OEM 19" w/ P Corsas F/R 42.5/50 lbs
CCW C10 18" w/ Toyos RA1 F/R 40.5/46 lbs

i was expecting more weight saving from the 18" but i think the Toyos are probably heavier than the p-corsas?

anyways, my boy likes it so much, he grabs a helmet and strikes a pose

i think he wants to go to the track

yeah i think he really does want to take it to the track!

but not before he gives his baby brother a lesson in smoothness.

YEAH!

Joe

Two boys and their little minds are corrupted already! Glad you stay true with your calling as a super dad!

Nice set up and can't wait to follow you on the track .... only if it does not rain this Friday at TH

Were you expecting much more weight loss with the CCW? Interesting how it saved 2 lbs in the front and 4 in the rear?? I think you are correct, Toyo tires are the one to blame.

Just to let you know, I am doing my best to shape my son's young mind so he can be a GT racer someday lol

Cute kids guys! Yeah heard that the Toyos are a bit on the heavy side but can't recall seeing any numbers.

Thanks, my wife thought it was cute too

Man! sure hope that low system from Alaska stay up high where Sarah Palin lives so we can have a dry day at TH lol

Here is a link to Toyo tire weight. What size are you using?

http://www.racetire.com/products/toyo_r888.htm

For your reference, I have Yokohama A048 on my M3's 18" Monolites. Front wheel with tire and 5 lug bolts weigh 46 lbs and rear wheel with tire, 12 mm spacer and 5 longer lug bolts weigh 47 lbs

thanks for the link. sorry they're RA1s, not 888s. what was i thinking. i corrected my post.

RA1 weight (full thread? not shaved?)
F 245/40/18 25 lbs
R 305/35/18 32 lbs

my tires are used and only have a few heat cycles left though so must take that into consideration. probably 1 or 2 track days left on rear and 3 or 4 on front.

RA1 .... don't know much about them. Hope it's good for track work. Wow, sounded like your tires are pretty worn out. No worry, you will use them for another 2-3 track days then you can change to Hoosier

those wheels look good on your car ;-)
RA1 are very heavy tires. put some hoosiers on, you will be 5lbs less per corner.

RA1 is faster than A048
those yoko's dont work on GT3 anyways.

when is your first day with those?
