2009 GT3 Spotted on Autobahn

Driving on the Autobahn in Germany, we spotted this 2009 Porsche 997 GT3 just outside of Nurburg cruising along. You can see it has the new LED tail lights and the rear wing along with the front bumper is slightly different. The car sounded AMAZING. Though he never took off, it was poetry in motion. Check out the pictures below and video of it.

Looks nice. The rear wing looks so much taller than the current GT3/RS.

Nice find, Germany always has a bunch of new (to North America) running around. I was there last spring and saw my first GT2 and a Salesman at a Porsche Dealer (stopped in to help program the Nav unit to find my destination) said "of course" when I told him I saw my first one, "there are 850 (or some number like that) built"

Looks like you were driving a BMW, I rented a Cayman S at Frankfurt, what a blast to drive a Porsche in Germany.

ir_fuel is infamous around these parts
The most important thing is that it is a US spec GT3. That's the first one I see.

The headlights look WAY too far apart, that's my only gripe about the 997's in general. 996 headlights FTW.

I wonder how a 997 GT2 with 997.1 GT3 front bumper and 996 headlights would look. That would be sweet.

I think Porsche has made it pretty clear that the Headlights on the 996/986 will never be repeated. I have a book at home that quoted a higher up in the design studio calling it a "Cost Savings Mistake"

Didn't say it was on the way, only said I wondered how it would look. I'm not pushy with agendas like the "make the cayman the flafship guys". I'm perfectly happy with 996's.

Why would that headlight design be a cost saving?

I think it looks better if the wing is a little longer. That one is a little short.
