997 GT3 headroom for tall drivers

I am wondering if there is a difference in headroom between manual sport seat vs adaptive sport seat with electronic control. I believe these were the only two options available directly from the factory in the US. Specifically does one of the above sit lower to provide more headroom? Any problems with a helmet on for track use? Would sitting in another 911 with above seats with sunroof be exactly the same as in a GT3? Why the GT3 came with a sunroof as standard eludes me. Thanks from long in torso.

I am 6'5" tall and fit in both seats. I have the manual Sport seats in my 09 C2S.

The seats I do not fit in due to head and leg room is the carbon fiber back Sport BUCKET Seats/GT2 Seats. The track that these seats are mounted on is really high and it does not allow the seat to go low enough or back far enough for tall drivers. To properly if in this seat you would need to be no more than 6'1" and not stocky or heavy set.

The GT3 Seats are the same...but even more narrow at the hips.

I'm 6'2", but with long legs. With my helmet, I have to put the seat down lower than I would normally drive on the street. I also had to recline a bit to not hit the roof. Since then, I've left the seat in that position to get used to it.

Oh - and I have the normal GT3 seats.

This is disappointing. I was thinking of getting GT2 seats.

6'5" with a helmet... .I am guessing that you will be rubbing the headliner and have a sore neck in either seat offering...

Brey-Krause do low seat mount kits. I have one on order for my Euro 996 GT3.
