Whoa, if only blasphemy was enough to get one banned

And exactly what part of my comment was so attrocious?

That FIA GT3 R8 is teh sex!!!! Might be the sexiest race car I've seen, even sexier than an Aston Vantage race car. This coming from someone who doesn't like the R8 in stock for either.

And yes a GT3 Cab, is blasphemy, you should be banned for that statement.

I was just kidding man, I meant to put that, sorry. But a GT3 cab? Are you serious? That's only 1 million times worse than PDK in a GT3. Might as well add the AWD and make it a nice 3700 lbs.

Thanks. Appreciate it. I think the formalism of a GT3 throws some people off. A Cab is a great experience. Modestly heavier, theoretically less rigid a platform. But in fact, a great driving experience.
What I'd like is more NA power, a tighter/lowered suspension, lower CG, lower weight, higher rev range, etc. All the things that make a GT3 so special. I DO NOT want AWD and prefer not to have a turbo.
Anyway, that's what I mean when I say GT3 Cab.
Oh well, guess I'll have to build one myself...

What would you do with said car? The chassis stifness would surely be massacred with a drop top. I think you are in an extra small demographic that wants to feel racy when they put the top down and cruise. I like to feel sporty at all times so I would drive one given the chance, but I'd despise and forsake anything made after that from Porsche. The GT3 is one of the last sacred purist driving machines left, and even it's getting bigger and a little softer. IMO Porsche can do what they will with everything else, just preserve the GT3 and it's heritage (short as it may be).

I definitely understand where you stand. To each his own but on one point I'm sure you're right. That my preference is a demographic too small for Porsche to choose to serve. Which is why the aftermarket thrives in selling mods that are rather transformational with regard to their intended use. But none of the results say GT3 on the side and take incremental work to fulfill. In that regard, surely they are less pure. Still well worth expressing it on this forum.
But I now have a better understanding of just what it means to be a purist.
