Just watched it great video, viper is weak!

 

I don't know why I assumed that the Viper would be noticeably faster than the GT3, but it appears that while there may be a difference, it is not absolute.

 

I was surprised to see the GT3 pop out at the end of the straight away. What a great drive by both.

 

It looks like the Viper just decided to follow the GT3 and could have easily passed him. See how he very quickly caught up to the GT3 several times after passing some cars. Then he decided at the end to just pass him. The Viper is much faster, especially if race prepped.

 

The Viper motor is probably running small (or smaller) air restrictors, too. Would explain the somewhat matched acceleration.
