weighted the car on the big scale
weighted the car on the big scale
so i put my 997 gt3 on the big scale today with a 1/4 tank of gas.
the mods:
- sharkwerks bypass (-16)
- DAS rollbar (+65)
- RS LWFW (-14)
- RS crank pulley (weight difference insignificant)
- RS decklid+wing (weight diff insignificant)
- RS steering wheel (weight diff insignificant)
- FE + mount (+3)
- 997GT2 seats (-40)
- Pagid RS29 brake pads (weight diff insignificant)
the big scale measures in steps of 20, so take it fwiw. it's drive thru, near my work, and it's free haha.
the verdict: 3240 lbs

I wonder why the 997 GT3 is so much heavier than the 996 GT3 - the official weight difference is only 15 kgs (35 lbs), 1380kg Vs 1395kg, but in practice there is often a 150 lbs difference between them.
maybe the 'official' weight is no-sunroof (-50 lbs?), pccb (?), no-other option model. but don't think that brings it under 3100 lbs.
haha you too eh. i back the car up on that scale 'cos it's too steep for the car on the other end.
some wheels should help u out some too (maybe)
carbon fiber doors as well
and if u reallllllllly wanna get into it. u can cut out ur roof (since u already have a rollcage) and install cf roof
my z weighed in at 3180 on empty

1006/993 62.5%
Total 3201 with 1/2 tank of gas.
On the track I run 18" Volk wheels, they should be a little lighter still.
No (Weight) option car, with everything but me, Hans and Helmet in it: LWFW, Sharky bypass, 996 GT3 seats, Tecquiment rollbar / Schroth harness, GIAC ECU, '09 Cup grills, traqmate, Valentine, laser jammer.
