Noob CGT question

Hi, new here so go easy on me

Can you order a CGT crate motor from the Porsche factory?

Or do you HAVE to have a CGT to do that?

If so, how much are they?

THX

Don't know for sure but I'm sure if you throw enough money at them they'll sell you one.........especially in the financial condition they're in.

LOL, ya. Im just curious if they would do it and for how much? I know on some "Supercars" you cant order a motor unless you own the car.

the way to get one cheap is to find a parts car taht the guy is willing to part out rather than fix. It is rare, but they do come up sometimes. I saw a one on ebay not too long ago. good luck. What would you be putting it in if you dont have a CGT?

True, and most CGTs that are cracked beyond repair have salvageable motors.

Not that I think the CGT motor is a POS, but if youre putting it into a non-CGT, there are MUCH cheaper ways to get similar (or much more) power.....Unless you just want to be able to say you have a CGT motor in your car

LOL, Im not doing anything of the sort. I just watched a bunch of Ultima GTR Videos with a wide assortment of motors riping up the streets and track. Audi/Lambo V10, Twin-Turbo 7.0L LS7, NA 407ci, Twin Turbo Lexus V8 blah blah blah.......

Anyways, they all use the porsche G50 transaxle with adaptor plates so, my mind wondered and I thought to myself "Self, would it be possible to put a CGT motor in that car and if so how much would it cost?"

So I decided to join this forum to have that and many other Porsche questions answered.

Im just day dreaming.

Off Topic: Man you guys got to lay off the Coffee and Meth and relax about the Nissan GTR!!! Its a great car for a good price but both Porsche and Nissan have used the media to fuel the debate about their respective cars and you all took the bait hook line and sinker.

Be proud of what you own and respect the competition, otherwise you end up being a Heavychevy wannabe

It'd be very interesting to see if there was any way to fit the CGT engine in a Cayenne.

An Ultima powered by the Porsche V10 would be a total hoot. But it surely would be a pricey approach. Likely for just a bit more, you could wrap the motor in a... Carrera GT.

LOL, ya. Hence why I asked about how much the motor would be if you ordered it from the factory?
