RS Carbon Fiber Wing
This is a factory Porsche part. It's CF and weighs almost nothing. It replaces the stock GT3 wing blade and is simple to bolt on. It accepts the Porsche 4 & 8 degree shims (not included). The only tool required is a T40 Torx screwdriver, which I'll include with the purchase.

Tech, no problem with dominating. I too am rather tech challenged and also don't want a huge project (stock wing is not THAT bad), unfortunately I ask a hundred questions to get ALL the facts. I want to get it in the mail and be able to walk out into the garage and install it. I am really glad you and I are in the same boat. What else do you want to do to your car, maybe we can tag-team the forum for information and not feel stupid amongst other users that are nothing short of a Porshce Dictionary.
Tech, If you want that wing, go ahead. The wing is amongst a laundry list of things I want to do to my car. I am putting in seats and harnesses this weekend. Plus, I am going to look into the Revsport wing first. Afterall, it is only $600.

I have a another post about 19" wheels. I'm having problems getting quotes for tires, as they say Pirelli Rosso is the only tire to make 19" wheels work with OEM width. I'm taking my OEM wheels and leaving them at the track. I just want some good looking Street wheels. I was looking at the Volk TE37 Time Attacks. My car is red, so the wing and time attack wheels would look awesome, in my opinion.
I've done the seats, bar and 6 point harness. I have track mats. I'd like to put in a Traqmate with video, just haven't pulled the plug. I've considered some mods, but still have a warranty and don't want to void.
I wish someone would provide feedback on RevoZport, as I like that price as well. However, there have been two or three posts concerning safety at the track due to the lack of attachment parts. I may just wait and get the front lip from them if you come back and say the service is good.
Let me know what else you are looking at.

We just did one of these wings on a Turbo Customer car too -

Speedyellow4, you might also check out Getty Design. They have wings as well. Don't know if they are direct bolt-on, but they do have them. Since you gave me the go ahead, I think I'm going to go ahead and move on Holger B's wing.
Good luck to you. Keep me posted on your purchase.

Brand new OEM 996 GT3 RS carbon wing was around $4400US last I saw. Holger's price is fair. Another option (that I have) is the Manthey Racing wing from Europe. New price is $2800 US + shipping from Germany through GMG Racing. You can trust OEM and Manthey for sure. I don't know the construction details of the MA Shaw wing and I'd never buy a $600 offshore knockoff. Can't trust it.
I bought my wing for extra stability. A buddy takes T1 at Pacific Raceway at 155+ mph and he said his car is a lot more stable with the RS wing than the regular GT3 wing. Stability is what I want.
Having a questionable wing come loose or fly off at those speeds around a turn could mean your life. That should be worth way more than saving some money.
Street use, put on what you want. Track use at speed, be careful. If you are going at those speeds, put on the Cup front splitter too. It's $175 from GMG. TRG (and any place that can get PMNA parts) also sells them.
Re: shims to adjust the angle: I tend to use the 8* shims in the rain to help reduce the chance of oversteer and sometimes no shims, 4* or 8* in the dry depending on the track.

Thanks for the input AllanJ. That is very good information. I have already made a deal with Holger, and look forward to the greater downforce. I will look into the splitter, as I intend to track. However, our local track has short straights allowing for a max of about 120 and greatest turn speed of 70 to 80 mph. Do you think that the cup splitter is a necessity?
Thanks for your input.

Since you aren't going that fast you're probably totally fine without the Cup splitter. However, when you are out there and especially when you travel to other tracks, bring the speed up gradually and completely focus on your car and what it's doing. The Cup splitter reduces lift at the front of the car to help balance it with the extra downforce at the rear. By keeping the stock splitter on the car you will have a little more lift up front which - on paper anyway - can contribute to understeer situations. Understeer is easy to correct so that's why I say to focus on the car's behavior on the track. You should be doing that anyway though.

Oh yeah....fwiw, the factory GT3 rear wing can provide a certain amount of downforce at whatever speed, but the RS wing can provide more downforce with less drag at that same speed. I don't know the numbers, but one way to think about it is the RS wing at 4* angle will provide the downforce of the factory GT3 wing at 8*. My numbers are wrong, but it works something like that.
Have fun out there!
Speedyellow4,
I just received this message from Getty Design. As Vivid Racing noted, they make the wing for MA Shaw.
"OK, that is the straight 55", RS Top Wing to go on the stock GT3 tailbase.
I make that wing for Mike, at Michael Shaw Design.
It comes with brackets already on, so it is a simple remove and replace.
Mike should have one of those in stock, ready to go.
Call him at 714-730-6917, he is usually in by 9:15, he was in Texas over the weekend."
I think they are a bit more expensive, but it is a US business, and you will get support in our time zone. My mechanic claims they are better quality than most knock-offs. And nothing against the other company we were talking about, but they have a disclaimer about being 8 hours or so ahead of us.
Hope this helps you in your hunt.
