Dynamic engine mounts

I have given up hope on a open allocation on a new gt3, all the dealers are wanting to put me on the cash deposit wait and see list. Having said this ,I have found an early production car without the engine mounts. Could some one who has driven both cars with and with out mounts, let me know your thoughts on them. Is it something I will miss having? the c
ar will be used as a weekend street drive.

PS the problem with the list is I cannot an answer as to my position on it.

regards
GG300

I have a Nov build on order with PADM, however, had the opportunity to order one earlier. I would have taken the allocation had my dealer been unable to trade for this later build.

Imo, the mounts will have some impact on resale (maybe the cost of the mounts and another 1-3%, who knows), but nothing catastrophic like a turbo w/o sport chrono.

I think that the benefits may not be measureable, especially for a street car, but MAY provide a marginally better feel when the car is pressed hard, something that would never have been noticed unless driven back to back very aggressively by someone who is in tune with their ride.

There is RUMOR of a retro-fit. I have heard that the wiring is in place for this and have heard something like $900 per mount plus installation. I wouldn't imagine that labor would be crazy.

I just took delivery of one with the dynamic engine mounts. I haven't driven a new one without but I highly doubt you would know the difference. If this is only a weekend street car for you then the only time you will miss it is if someone asks if you have them.

look at it this way. All the previous 6 or 7GT3 do not have this mount and they perform really well.

just because there is an engine mount now does not suddenly make the cars without the mount much worse.

hope that makes you feel better.

Congratulations!!!

Yes, post pics and a complete list of options, please. A road review wouldn't hurt either.

We have a set of the mounts, we need a test mule to try them. The harness is there, looks like it may just need to be activated?

I doubt it, on the newer GT3's there is a plug sitting next to the standard engine mounts. So it almost appears to be a plug-and-play install.

I am sure that appling volyage to the mounts will activate them. A simple switch would put on or off, now the best way but it would work. I think shifting would be more percise with them on.

If i was ordering a new GT3, I would get these for SURE!

But thats because I would be tracking it.

If you wont be using it on the track, then there is no need for them.

My guess is it makes a difference when the car is driven at 7/10+

most mere mortals wont need them!

Some of us mere mortals drive 7/10+ on the streets, too...

From feedback of those who have driven with them on the track, the onlt change is that they seem to help the engine settle in on weight transfer into corners...you get less ungulation while the car is trying to take a set.

Many technological advancements can not be measured in a tangible way, however, it does not mean that said advancement is not better. With that said, I feel that PADMs will make any sports car a better one whether driven hard at the track or spirited on the street.
