Thicker alcantara wheel for 997/987

Does anyone know if the Porsche makes a thicker alcantara steering wheel for the 997/987? I currently have the leather sport wheel but can't stand how skinny it feels - esp. compared to the M3's thick wheel.

Someone said Porsche didn't make the alcantara wheel with the XPA thick option. Is this the case? Is there an aftermarket vendor who can custom make a thick alcantara wheel using mine as the core? TIA.

TechArt uses the Porsche core and you can specify whatever color/material choice, here's mine

Yes, exactly. I want that wheel (or even thicker) with alcantara. In the description it says that wheels is the exact thickness of the 997 GT3 wheel, but obviously not the alcantara GT3 wheel because I measured them.

I could never figure out why they don't have a thicker version in alcantara, I think custom is your best way.

I am surprised at how think Porsche wheels are, my Touareg wheel is thicker.

and why are these things so freakin' expensive. They are not very complex at all...$1500 is insane for something so simple. And all the aftermarket ones want your core and still charge the same price. What a racket....

Plus #1 for Dallas Steering Wheel. Had my stock wheel custom covered in Alcantara, thickened, and slim band at top of wheel for $415 which included shipping. First class craftsmanship and customer service.
