05 GT3: Oil Pressure Warning

My oil level is rock steady, but for the past year, every month or so my oil pressure gauge drops to zero, and I get the warning beep and the light comes on, always for about 2 seconds, and then it recovers and looks normal.

Pressure monitor or switch problems somewhere? Anyone seen this? I have dismissed it since it recovers immediately and my oil level is fine. Could there really be something wrong?

Thanks

Had the same problem on my gt3. Replacing the oil pressure sensor fixed it.

Good, that is what I was hoping! Something a shade tree mechanic can do? Any instructions out there?

Same thing happened to my 04 GT3. It was under warranty at the time and they replaced the sending unit.

No idea. I didn't do the work myself.

Mine was replace under warranty. Service tech said it was difficult to reach.

A short time later I got the same symptoms, so I wonder if it is not a sensor problem. Maybe the ECU(??)

i have the same thing going on rigth now and i am trying to figure it out . in addition to the the pressure gauge falling to zero and the warning message coming on my outside temp probe will also fail . interestingly i find that if i push the cruise control button to turn cc on it fixes the problem . i think it is more thasn some sender unit .

is it the ecu or the oil pressure sensor??

Intermittent problems are difficult.

I want to wire a gauge, in parallel, from the cabin to the sensor. if that gauge contradicts the dash readout, I would know if the sensor or the ecu are defective.

It happens to me on REALLY bumpy roads in exactly the same places every time if I am going faster than a certain speed and hit that patch of bumps... No ACTUAL problems or issues, I think it's just something these Cars occasionally do. As soon as I dialed back my compression damping and softened the Car up, ZERO problems and it doesn't happen. I frimed my shocks back up for a track day, drove that piece of road again and BINGO! exact same issue... backed them off and it was gone.
