PCCB to GT3 Cup steel rotors - bitter sweet conversion
If you don't sell yours, I am happy to let others know that we are selling our PCCB's off our 2010 GT3, that are basically brand new.
Happy to sell to someone, they are begging for a home.
Good luck Mike and hope to see you at the track soon.
Thanks
Robb

First of all, I had a chance this Saturday to try out the steel Cup rotors with Pagid R29 at Infineon. It work great without fuzz or fade. Much more confidence inspiring. Will post video once Youtube decide to work lol
I read you. When I first bought my RS I realize people in general just don't DIY these type of car. I thought I should be one of the first to fix some of the pesty problems myself. Hope to contribute more in the future
I have my PCCB in a shrine lol. Will try out couple brake pad combo next year
Interesting ... never thought about PCCB vs steel brake Caliper parameter. i sure hope they are the same. So far no problem even with track use. I will inspect the brakes often and repeort if there are issues
Thanks Edwin for the info. So far I have no problem with Motul or ATE racing blue. Will try SRF next time and I hope they make it in a different color other to ease bleeding
Every post you make leaves me stunned, and motivates me to work on my project.
I know/met a lot of Porsche guys (I am a big VW guy) and I don't know of a single one that has a modern Porsche and works on it themselves. Your work is impressive, and detailed.
What are you going to do with the PCCB's?

there was a thread on another forum about guys wanting to upgrade their C6 Z06 brakes with the new composite brakes from the ZR1.
a brake manufacturer chimed in and said that the Z06 could not accept the composite brakes from the ZR1 because they are designed to operate at different brake lines pressures and parameters than steel brakes.
dont know if it applies in the reverse but it was stated that the early composite brake problems were caused by manufacturers using the steel brake parameters/designs to operate composite brakes.
ferrari is said to gone exclusively to composite to avoid having 2 types of braking systems.
any thoughts?

WOW!!! Fantastic DIY contribution. I applaud you for the time and effort not only to do the conversion but to post every step with clear as day photos.
I had the PCCB swapped for the Brembo steel rotors due to the ceramic rotors developing pits and disintegrating after track use. However they always performed without any fade.
That said I still use the stock Pagid pad for the GT2 and they fit without any issues and stop flawlessly time after time.
If the doctor thing doesn't work out in the future at least you know you can always find work repairing Porsches.

Thanks guys. Can't do it without your many technical and parts support
I submit my employment application at Porsche Inc. and they told me to take it to the VW dealer down the street LOL
Glad you guys like the write up. I had a chance to give it a go at Infineon this past weekend and it works perfectly with excellent stopping power ... just wish the track wasn't so cold and slippery. It was very dangerous for most of the day and one of the 6 GT3 crash at turn 7
Will give it more "go" in a week or so at Laguna Seca
