From a value standpoint, the market destroyed the pricing of the GT2. The RS has sorta held its head above water. I think most of that is the GT3 RS is probably one of the coolest looking cars ever made. People will pay more for cool than they will speed. Look at sales of 430's as an example.
Horrible market timing w/ the GT2 and plunging values is what prompted me to get one w/ 400 miles on it about as much as I could a 997.2 GT3 RS. It was too good of a deal to pass up. Had it held its value I would be getting a 997.2 GT3 as the RS seems to be so hard to get.

cc08gt2, would you recommend anything prior to tracking the GT2? Should I do a track alignment? I would likely be only tracking it a handful of times a year and it will predominately be a road car for me. Have you modded yours at all?

I have modded mine quite a bid. ECU reflash by FVD, FVD headers, GMG titanium race exhaust, champion intercoolers and boost hoses, and Champion wheels. I might have forgotten something there. Roughly 650 HP but haven't dyno'd. I track mine a handful of times a year right now. I have don't nothing as to alignment or suspension. GT2 has factory coilovers. I guess you could get better, but you won't be tracking enough. I wouldn't mess with that stuff. Modding is just for more HP and speed. Which I LOVE. Oh yeah, I got a GMG speed yellow cage installed.

What do you think of the mods, did you do them all at once or piecemeal? I was planning on ECU and exhaust at the minimum, not sure which vendor though. Do you like the FVD and why'd you choose it? Do you think intercoolers are a must w/ a chip upgrade?

If your going to track it at all you should get a street/track alignment, nothing to crazy but it must be done or you will have poor results with uneven tire wear.

The trick is to find something that's not to aggressive that works in both worlds.
I would say 2.5 deg Front and 2. deg Rear camber.. straight toe in the front and the max stock toe in on the rear.

As for power packages I have the RS/Cargraphic 600hp, this is a very smooth, quicker boost easy to drive very fast package..very happy.

what I would look for is getting a complete package from one tuner, it's less risky if you have problems.

Do some research on the available packages, there is allot of info on these forums...also check the Rennlist Forums.

I did it a little at a time due to money availability. Just part of life. I like FVD. I chose them because they were a vendor of my dealer, and they sat down with me and said I had a warranty. That was a plus. I found out that I needed intercoolers with the upgrade, but only after I did the chip. I was loosing boost at high speeds due to the smaller coolers. I learned this running the Texas Mile. After I did the other things, we redid the tune and I am quite happy.
