In general, speakers are the rate-limiting step in auto sound systems.

I think that the GT3 just isn't the platform to have a great sound system in. The need for additional sound proofing would add weight which goes against the whole GT3 concept. Also, you would need to change the head unit, add power amps, put more wiring in and get good sub woofers, mids and tweeters with custom enclosures to fire the speakers at the right angles. By that time you would only have a system beginning to approach the sound of an above average stereo in the car but with so much added weight that it would sap any driving advantage that the GT3 has over a standard C2S.

Whilst I definitely need music in the car regularly, I have learned to live with the limitations of the GT3s system and just kept my exhaust system stock so that there is no additional sound competing from my ears than already came from the factory....

Anyone of you guys that aren't interested in stereo want a Cargraphic Type 6 system? I guarantee you wont hear any stereo then and can listen to (and feel) all the exhaust you want....

ROFL! Thanks Izzone... I've honestly not really turned the stereo on (other than to listen to the Raiders loose) when driving. Just put the windows down and wind her out...

I like the 3-D surround affect against the trees where you live:P

My C2S had the bose high end and the GT3 has the sound package plus. really no comparison between the 2. the bose high end filled the cabin with satisfying volume and punch, the GT3 spp sounds hollow and empty in comparison.

i dont listen to music so its worked out great for me.

My gen 1 RS is garbage for sound. My gen 2 will probably be worse. I really don't do the kind of relaxed driving where the sound matters, but a good professional installer can sort anything you need. ( I would never use the RS for a long weekend cruise in the country..its not that comfortable to load up and drive around at 70mph)

Bypass? What does this do to the 3? I have an RS with January build coming. Will it work on this car as well?

Yank out the rear speakers too. Install a cage. I NEVER listen to the radio in a Porsche. The motor is the radio.
