Got my GT3.
Well, I am back in a GT3 after spending 2 years in a C4S.
The '08 GT3 I had before is still etched in my memories. Been missing that car since I sold it and got the C4S. Not that the C4S is not a great car, just not as exciting to drive overall.
Took delivery of 2010 GT3 in Carrera White today, same color as my last one and promptly took her on her maiden voyage.

Yep, she reminded me why I fell in love with a GT3 back in '08 in the first place. What a great car. As I put on some miles on her, I was comparing and making mental notes as to the similarities and differences between the two GT3s. The clutch seems a bit stiffer than what I remember with the .1 vs the .2. Gearbox requires a bit more effort too but she doesn't have many miles on her so this can change a bit with some more rowing of the gears. Same great steering, lots of feedback, very precise and just right in steering effort. Didn't lay into the brakes too heavy since the pads are still new but they feel great, very linear. Didn't push her too hard just yet, 4500 rpm only but I can already tell that life really begins around that mark.
Suspension seems to be sorted out even better, normal mode is actually quite comfy and seems just a bit more forgiving than it was with the .1 while the sport mode is about the same as .1 from what I recall. Driving on some less than smooth roads I thought the suspension was stiff and sporty enough but not harsh at all.
I am glad the car has adaptive seats which are kind to my often aching back and offer tons of adjustable lateral support in the thigh and shoulder bolsters. Nice! This car will be just as comfortable on longer trips as my C4S was.
The MKII sounds a bit different both inside the cabin and outside. I guess that is to be expected with the difference in the engine and probably a different exhaust. Not better or worse, just different and seems to be deeper and slightly louder in the .2. Quite civil in normal and plenty loud and intoxicating in sport for my taste. Of course it will sound different still when I can get her up in the rpm range.
Thjis is probably what I missed the most, that great sound that reminds you every time you stomp on the gas pedal that you are driving a GT3.
As I started to near my house my thoughts turned to the problems I had with ground clearance with the MKI and my driveway that would always catch the chin spoiler and scrape it hard.... I cringed and crossed my fingers as I pushed the "front axle lift" button. Hey, what do you know, the front elevated within a few seconds and I was up and over my nasty driveway ramp with no drama. Great! I pushed the putton again and the car made that tractor trailer air brake bleeding sound which made me laugh as the nose dove back down to normal height.
Of course I spent another good 20 minutes just admiring the car as it was tucked away in the garage for the night.
Yep, I am very happy with this MKII GT3.

Hey Serge did you take her to Global rd. or Terwood. As someone already said, time to change the avatar.

Congrats and hope to see you around!
Sort of similarly, just traded in my 05 C2S for an 07 GT3. Spring is practically here so looking forward to seeing you out and about in the Philly suburbs or at NJMP!
Any bypass exhaust mod planned?
-E.
ps- guys, waiting for the roads to clear (too much run-off and salt left from the recent snowstorms) to take her out and get proper pics for a new avatar!
