z06 to gt3

I was starting to get a little concerned about my decision. It will not be a DD for me, will predominantly be for weekends, and maybe, occasional track days. Funny you mention your wife doesn't go with you for fun drives, my wife doesn't like my fun drives either (hum wonder why). Any mods on your car? I read about using a 7gt3 exhaust on the 6 and it sounds interesting. Waiting for them to finish the car to see how it works. I'm learning a lot on this forum. Thanx for the follow-up.

My car is stock except for the seats and CCW track wheels and tires. I would not mess with the exhaust. The 997 center outlet will require a new bumper cover, and I doubt you will gain anything. I talked to someone in the after-market exhaust industry whom I trust (a name you would know) about a different system. He said they spent a lot of time and money trying to develop something for the 6 GT3, and just could not come with anything that offered any material advantage. Unless you are going all the way to an open race system, I'd leave it alone.

I think that nothing changes when nogiating a price for a car whether it's a GT3 or anything else. If the car has issues that need to be fixed then that is negotiated into the price unless the seller has already accounted for it.

Brakes & clutch are normal wear items, but if the clutch is wearing out prematurely then you have to wonder about how it was driven generally. Fixing a camshaft solenoid should be done if it's faulty (I wouldn't wait for symptoms).

I would compare the car you're looking at to a pristine car with similar options and no issues and base an offer on that.
