Anyone do this? MY 2010/2011 GT3 CENTERLOCK conversion on MY 2007/2008 GT3
sorry, but all these wt are splitting hairs.
if you really want to reduce such wt, then yes, this is one very expensive way to go about it. but it is wt reduction for sure.
if you are in it for the looks, the CL "look" wheels are pretty good and far cheaper. BBS motorsport E88 with CL look cap comes to mind, very lwt as well
if you think CL are easier to change the wheels, you are WAY wrong. the CL on these GT3's are not the cup car stuff. i would actually pay to have five bolts rather than CL.

If you can source your own wheels/tires, the actual center-lock conversion kit is only $2600.00 for the 997TT. Not too bad, I suppose.

We have done the Cup car centerlock conversion for road cars.
Feel free to drop me a line.
We also offer a very lightweight road and track worthy 5 bolt wheel - the GMG WC-GT wheel 18x9 and 18x12.

Since you guys have done the conversions, I think it would be very helpful if you could confirm the exact unsprung weight savings by making the switch.
Five pounds per corner savings just for the CL hubs seems like a lot. But if correct, that might just make it worth the investment.

To be 100% honest I don't know if there are any weight savings. Center locks are used in racing for the ease and ability to quickly change the wheel during a pit stop.

Guys,
If you look in the GMG WC-GT wheel release thread (there are few so you might have to search) AMT chimed in about the weight difference between CL and 5 Lug. Bottom line, AMT says the 5 lug design is lighter due to extra material required to reinforce the CL design. In the end the REAL advantage of CL is not weight.

But the Centerlocks sure look cool! Only you can decide if it is worth the dough for the conversion.
Me? I wouldn't do it.
PS: We don't use the AMT name anymore. The company name since 7/09 is Advanced Structural Alloys, LLC. Forged Alloys USA is our aftermarket division.
I couldn't imagine a bigger waste of money. If you want to go faster, spend $10k on driving lessons. THEN, spend some money on suspension upgrades.
I don't care what Porsche says in their marketing material. They are designed for looks...i.e., mimicking what real race cars use.
