Gt2 vs. Gt3rs
Very well said my friend.
Get after it. I'm not stock. Don't want to be on a track event with other guys around and crash. I might talk different about the GT2 if I was alone on a track for about a half day and could get to limit or close to understand it better. When tracking, short of a couple pro's, I'm passing all the time in moderation.
i agree with this too. thats why im in the market for a gt3 rs .... BUT AT STICKER...
I have owned both and recently as well..Well not the GT2 but a turbo at least.. I gave up my GT3 for the turbo after 5 short months.. while I LOVED the GT3 to death.. I LOVE the Turbo more.. The GT3 has RPM, Better Gearbox, Stiffer and more precise chassis.. All of which i found USELESS on the street.. After tracking the GT3 i could hardly bare to drive it on the street.. The power is all in the upper RPM.. a 3rd gear pull to redline is over 120mph.. 2nd gear is well past any speedlimits as well.. The cornering ability you can use 10% of on the streets..
Now the Turbo.. DOWN LOW TQ.. Hit it in 2nd and it roars.. You can even pull most of 3rd without getting to far over the speed limit.. Sure ride is soft, not as precise, not as stable but MUCH MUCH better street car IMO..
Heree is how i know its a better street car, FOR ME atleast.. I drove the Turbo every single day i have owned it, rain or shine, work and back, track and back.. this is 3 weeks atleast..
The GT3 i drove maybe 30x in 5 months on the street.. The car begs to be pushed around corners, revved to the moon and i just found you cant use more than 20% of the car on the street..
Ill have another Gt3 one day 100% sure.. But ill be using 95% on the track and using my turbo for the streets.. Just cant afford both right now..

I still want to try a GT3, however.
+1, very well said Mike.
Ideally, one should have both a GT3/RS (for track), and a turbo/turboS (for street) in his garage to complement each other.
cc08gt2 has more than the ideal collection.
I'm slowly working on it...

Try a 996 GT2 for the track.... It's a STUNNING weapon, trust me. You can get it to handle 99.999% as well as the GT3RS if you get the suspension correct
At the four most recent Laguna Seca Track days, none of the GT3's or GT3 RS Cars have been within 4 seconds a lap of my best laps... These are GT3's and GT3RS Cars driven by professional instructors and regional Racers...
Video.. Apologies for the geiger counter sound, it's the camera hitting the windshield.

Once you get the correct amount of camber in the front and get the ride height set, the Car is transformed.
I went with a set of triple JRZ's because the stock suspension likes smooth surfaces and here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we have some amazing, fun backroads, but the surface is fairly rough in certain places.. The triple adjustables have high speed compression damping which can be set to soak up the rough stuff WAY better than the stock suspension does.
At the moment, I am running -2.5 degrees camber front, -2.0 rear, 25 1/4" ride height (measured to the tops of the wheel arches), corner balanced and some other goodies thrown in to help locate the suspension components more rigidly... Acceptable for daily driving, but enough to make it REALLY good at the track.
At the track, the Car is just brilliant now.. very predictable and when it slides at the rear, it's relatively easy to get back in line..
Cheers...

They are two completely different cars built with different intentions for different purposes
