Gt2 vs. Gt3rs

I've had the RS long enough to put on about 300 pretty hard miles around the county roads I live. Even got it to 160 this evening. The GT2 is a different kind of power. Micro bursts of tons of power quickly followed by quick shifting because of the redline of 6750. The downforce and planted feeling of the GT2 is not there. The GT3RS accelerates hard and linear and is deceptive in how fast you are going. Because you can hit 8500 RPM's, you are moving quite fast. On the road and track, there is no comparison. The RS is planted and rock solid. I could take a turn at 100 without trouble. I am afraid that the RS could take the 2 on the track. You just can't beat downforce and 8500 RPM's. Tracking is next. I understand the statement turbo owners make when they purchase a GT3, and claim to never want to return to the turbo route. It is most definitely cool to drive one car 150 around the roads and then get the other car out and do the same. The neighbors were considering throwing things at the cars. The sound is a different subject alltogether. Don't get me started.

2008 GT2
2010 Panamera Turbo
2010 GT3 RS
2011 Superduty

OK, that's it!
I'm buying 10 Powerball tickets for Wednesday night. Let's see, do the power play, win $175 million X 2......take half for immediate payout......then f*&%ing taxes....net about $115 million.... That ought to do it! Let's go car shopping!

I'd love to do that well but unfortunately, statistics say I'm 18.3 times more likely to be struck by lightning.....

Where would the suspense be if I did that???

The stimulus for that pic came from an earlier post where wifey called my GT3 a "Porsche Panty remover". Funny, but this evening, she was complaining about the wedgie the sport seats gave her G string. I offered to pull it out for her when we got out of the car at the restaurant entrance but she declined....imagine that.....

You definitely are a lucky guy to own both of the GT series I guess the only one left is the Carrera GT

Tracking my car as often as possible, I can only dream the feeling of a 997.2 GT3 RS...

there seems to be a contradiction when you said "The downforce and planted feeling of the GT2 is not there" vs "On the road and track, there is no comparison. The RS is planted and rock solid"

Was just curious bcuz some ppl say the gt2 feels more composed and solid compared to the 997 gt3.2 non RS on the road. also i think little alignment changes on our 911s make a big difference in handling.

I didn't explain too well. What I thought was a planted GT2 at speed, is not as planted of a feeling as the GT3RS. It feels heavy and stuck to the road. I have more confidence. Maybe it could be that the power of the 2 scares me some.

Technically, I don't mean scare. With the power of my GT2, I don't know the edge. I don't want to go to the edge. It is easy to "lose it" in that car, and the RS is so so so so easy to control. One mishap in a GT2 throttle means wipe out now.

Get after it. I'm not stock. Don't want to be on a track event with other guys around and crash. I might talk different about the GT2 if I was alone on a track for about a half day and could get to limit or close to understand it better. When tracking, short of a couple pro's, I'm passing all the time in moderation.

im sure the GT2 is a fine car but this why i think the GT3/RS is more enjoyable to drive. there is a certain satisfaction missing when you cant hammer a car to its full potential
