New Shoes for the GT3

Anyone have any experience with the new Continental ExtremeContact DW tires for a daily driver? The specs and early reviews look good, but the prices are so low they have me scratching my head.

They are not R compound - really designed for the street - but have high speed ratings, excellent load stats, pretty incredible treadwear ratings and are getting high marks in reviews for performance (again, with the target being for street use). A full set of four costs less than 2 rear Michelin Cups. The price is almost too low to give them any credibility, but . . .

If they're only for the street it won't matter.

To a point, I agree, but over 30 years of Porsches I've seen quite a few tires - particularly rear tires - and some are definitely better, even significantly better (even on the street). I just don't want to end up with a set of bricks that wear well, but take the 'circus' out of the circus ride for my daily driver.

I just installed Bridgestone RE-11 on my car. I'm pretty happy with the results. I had Pirelli Pzero Rosso that came from the factory and I wasn't satisfied. I love the RE-11s for street and occasional DE events...
