I was just going to post that. The uprights are the real deal from Porsche, but the decklid and wing are only available in fiberglass. Anybody able to make the wing blade in visible carbon? Better yet, the decklid too?

The FVD option is a good one for now. You can CF wrap the wing.
What hasn't been addressed here are the airboxes. The 997.2 GT3RS has twin airboxes like the Cup cars and the 997.1 & .2 GT3's only single.
You need to buy the OEM twin airboxes to match and keep the air seal.
I remember several weeks back a discussion about this and the Porsche OEM entire rear decklid/wing/boxes was all about $35K.
As was said, others will soon release knock-offs. Lets see what Vorsteiner comes up with.
Good day

Having looked at Fred's RS a lot there might well be a better ram air effect. It's almost the same as the difference between the 996TT and 997TT airbox, which added a second inlet. The 2010 RS wing does indeed have a much larger "scoop" two that feeds two inlets vs 1 on all the other GT3s. I doubt it's worth a lot of power or anything as Todd/we tested a number of cold air intake versions over the past couple of years. There were _very_ slight gains to be made with a cup style intake but to be honest when one can only produce enough fan speed to emulate 40mph it's very hard to register exact data on the dyno vs street

Full carbon decklid and then cf wing would be heaven...wonder what kind of weight saving could be had.

The FVD seems cool but upset that the wing isnt cf

you might want to check with some RS owners and sit in one if you can...between the roll bar and rear wing the 2010 I drove had limited vision out the back...also a problem with the cup wing

Yes, I have a contact with a company that has it. Identical replica of the Porsche OEM part 100%. They can do the wing (which is adjustable, like the OEM one) in 100% vacuum infused carbon for the spoiler and vacuum infused FRP for the decklid. The decklid can also be done in vacuum infused carbon, instead of vacuum infused FRP.By looking at the FVD pics, FVD's upright's don't seem to be as tall (the same) as the RS ones, if it was, it'd be adjustable like in the RS. , no?

Guest is infamous around these parts
Another thing to note - the GT3 RS has wider fenders than the regular ole GT3, so the width of the wing plane itself may look a little "off" to very particular observers. But that's most likely restricted to the types of people posting in this thread, and that's only with a tape measure in hand most likely...

Anyone know exactly how much more downforce the rs wing provides? From my what ive read the gt3 makes around 220 lbs of df at X speed and the rs around 330...so I would assume the wing makes 100 lbs more...cause it's not coming from anywhere else. But i don't know much about aerodynamics so.

it's a lot downforce. about $12,400 (blade/decklid/supports).

^ that didn't include the large scoop, paint, intake box, and possibly more hardware. when everything added up, you would be better off with a SW 3.9.
