Got my 2011 GT3 allocation!
My RS4 was misano red too, and I loved the color! However, I didn't like the attention it got. Still, I'm strongly considering red for the GT3 because well, it's a GT3. Nothing low key about this car so why bother with a stealth color right?Aqua blue seems like a compromise between meteor and guards red in that it's not as loud as red yet not exactly too plain like grey either.
Damn, the choice becomes harder when you actually have to make it.
^^ Yup, that's correct. I had Misano with the titanium package and the Audi exclusive interior. It was a very hard combination to beat, I absolutely loved that interior. Like you said, it's a GT3 so a "in your face" color would fit it fine especially if its just a weekend toy.
I totally went back and forth between the Carrera White, Meteor Grey, and Guards Red. I originally put my order in for white, but changed a few days later to Guards Red. I actually flew down to Cali to look at all three colors on a few 10' GT3's that were on dealer lots. Once I saw the Guards Red I was hooked. Good luck on your decision...I know what you are going thru.

Your user name.... I assume you have or once had a misano red RS4?

oh wow.. this is just TOO stunning!! is this photoshopped?
i'd love to see more of this combo.. this or white/red.. hmmm
Also if these are 2011 models, what type of engine what are the specs? is it new DFI type engine like the 2011 turbo engine, or the older dry sump style(2010).
As far as I know, there are no such major changes for 2011. Engine changes very unlikely according to my seemingly knowledgeable dealer since they claim it's just too soon after Porsche just refreshed the 997 for 2010, and the next generation is expected in 2012 once the 997 finally bows out with the GT2 RS. From what I heard, things like bluetooth, universal audio interface, and such are now standard equipment and the msrp goes up slightly. As for DFI, I'm actually glad Porsche stuck with the Metzger block and stayed away from direct injection. I've had nothing but bad luck with direct injection, especially with carbon buildup that has plagued Audi RS4 cars everywhere. I'm glad Porsche stuck with a tried and true race-proven engine block and just developed on that instead of adding fancy technology like direct injection for the GT3.

2011 RS is being delivered as we speak. they are IDENTICAL to 2011 except a slight increase in price and few more standard options, mostly not performance related.
all .2RS 2010-2011 are metzger engine.
stop making rumors.

The DI engine in the 997(S) has been out since the MY2009. The next gen (991) Carreras may debut early fall 2011 as a MY2012 (maybe later), however, you won't see any gt3s until a year or more later.
The Mezger engine is used in the 2010 and 2011 gt3/RS. The 2010 and 2011 engines are the same, respectively. These dealers are goofy.
