Roll Bar

Here's an interesting question. I just removed a Techquipment SS rollbar from my '07 GT3 that I traded. I was wondering if it would fit in my '11 GT3RS. It bolts to the front and rear seatbelt mounts, so I don't see why not. Interior dimensions should be identical, even though the RS is "widebody." Any ideas?

I'm not an expert, but it should work. All Porsches are the same on the inside. Wide bodies just have wider exterior parts.

I am not an expert either but I do think wide body and regular body dimensions are not the same and roll bars are specific to that variance.

Bar fitment

At the risk of being simplistic why not call the bar manufactor?

it will fit. the widebody is on the sheet metal on the outside interior dimensions are the same but with no sunroof on the 2011 there may be a lil more room near the headliner.

It will fit, all of the 1999-2010 911 coupes use the same bars.

When I bought the bar for my tt they said gt3 was different. Glad to know its the same, as i still have it, and can install in the 3 now if I want.

The Tequipment rollbar is universal. There is another factory bar which is made specifically for clubsport-prepared vehicles (GT3 RS's). This is the only exception that I'm aware of, here is a photo of that bar:

Thanks for all of the help. Suncoastric seems to have the answer. The only thing now is this. One of the mounts for the bar on the old, '07 GT3 was the lower seat belt mounting point, which was on the floor to the side of the seat. In the '11 RS, the seatbelt is mounted to the side of the seat at the bottom. Maybe the same hole is still there in the '11 RS, but maybe it's covedered up by the carpet? I'll post some pics when I get a chance to take a few. Only had the car a few days and been busty at work.
