08 GT2 0r keep my 08 Turbo
There was a 08 GT2 with 367 miles in Memphis that the asking price was 159K I know it sold for less than the 159 K I think they are a little high on the car but this a rare car to be on market. May bring that much in your area.
Cant see a GT2 as a DD more of a toy or track car. But you only live once get what you want and what you can afford. You wont go wrong.

The yellow GT2 at Park Place in Dallas is absolutely beautiful! I've actually had an opportunity to ride in the car! It's an amazing car and a lot faster than my tuned 09' TT. The car handles WAY better than a TT. It all boils down to what your needs are in the car! If you're going to track it and use it as a daily driver, get the GT2! If you're going to track it a lot,, definitely get the GT2! If you are going to drive it around town a lot and NEVER use it to track or go on long, twisty drives, then stick with the TT. I have a 09' TT coupe and an 07' GT3. I actually prefer driving the GT3 more than the TT. It's just a personal preference!!!
Good luck with your decision!

I don't get it. A flash and good suspension job (i got mine at TPC) and you'll have more HP, as good if not better handling, AWD (better for street), and rear seats. You'll give up a couple hundred pounds and will save $50k.
But you will never be able to extract the driving experience out of a Turbo that you can get from a GT2. The steering feel alone makes it work the difference.
These are all great cars and we are talking about degrees of difference here!
I however would not get a GT2 as a DD, I would keep your Turbo, better everyday car and you can drop the top whenever you want. If you need a change get the new Turbo or Turbo Cab with DSG and paddle shifters, that will be a better daily driver than what you have and the delta will be similar.
Good luck!
If you're still considering GT2's, then you might want to consider the yellow one at Park Place. Like somebody else said, it belongs to another 6speed member, which is a known quantity; I consider that an advantage despite having very low mileage. The owner is a big Porsche enthusiast and very OCD about his toys.
I know that if I had the means, we wouldn't be having this conversation...

Buy a GT2 and you will get it. What you have done has made your good car better and done so at less $. A lot to be said for that.

I haven't owned either so I don't know if my 2c counts. But a GT2 as a DD really...8/ Thats kinda not made to be a DD. As I am learning from my growing collection. Driving bad a$$ cars as a DD really takes the fun out of it for me. That is a bad a$$ and I think you might miss the comfort of a TT cab. There is a lot utility in a tt cab over a GT2. Plus watch that thing depreciate like crazy when you put tons of useless miles on it.
Maybe just have the best of both worlds and give your TT cab a little GT2 flare and save tons of money...

keep the TT for DD. For 50 K delta you can create a TT that will handle better and much faster than any stock GT2. I personally will go for a gt3 , turbo cars (GT2 included) are no match for NA experience. In fact i find 997/996 GT2 quite boring compared to 997 GT3. Just depends on what you want to do with the car...each have their own place.
Just do a rwd and get suspension , turbo upgrade on the TT and see how it compares to the Gt2. Then you will know if its worth spending 50k more.

my belief is that a reason to own a 911 is that it puts some thrill back into daily driving. both the 996 and 997 GT2s are great daily drivers, unless you spend copius amounts of time on your cell phone or reading the WSJ as you drive.
Adverstised prices for the 997 GT2 are a bit inflated compared to what they actually sell for. Also, there is a 997.2 GT2 that will be launched soon - the P factory is selling any and all models they can, to hit VW's sales target.
