08 GT2 0r keep my 08 Turbo
SubscribeYes,the 997.2 GT2 is coming out soon, but won't that have the benefit of pdk, active engine mounts, but also the possible disadvantages of the unproven dfi engine (high oil temperatures, limited tuning potential, compared with the Metzger engine).Don't GT2 owners value the fact that the Metzger engine is bulletproof and easy to tune?Don't they have a feeling of "confidence" when driving hard?PS>I drove the GT2 recently and I thought it was more "fun" than my 997.1 turbo (better steering, grip,"effortless" through the bends).I took the GT2 round a familiar bend at the maximum safe speed of my TT-the GT2 wasn't even trying. So I took it quicker, but stil it just drove round!I had to go WAY quicker before it even started to drift a little wide.My 997.1TT would have been in the scenery long ago!Very impressive. However, although the engine went well above 5000 rpm,it lacked a bit in mid range compared with my chipped 997.1.If I bought one,it might not stay standard...PPS>Although it rode a little firmer than my 997.1 TT and there was a little more road and engine noise, these,in my view, didn't seem substantialy worse than the TT.PPS>I believe a mildly tuned GT2 could give one the feeling of being "king of the road-invincible"....

thats a gt2 rs. article was written when noting was known n the rs . it since has been released . if its not it looks exactly like a gt2 rs . but why would they do that? the rs is suppose to be exclusive. i also think the head of porsche said hell never do a gt car in automatic platform. please someone chime in . i really hope them make a 997.2 gt2 but dont think that will happen. also iyts know the new gt2 rs is still on 3.6 gt1 block . if the 3.8 was truly better theyd use it on the rs imo. its not like the rs is a cheap car.

my belief is that a reason to own a 911 is that it puts some thrill back into daily driving. both the 996 and 997 GT2s are great daily drivers, unless you spend copius amounts of time on your cell phone or reading the WSJ as you drive.
My 996 TT is the only car I've ever owned that keeps me smiling ALL THE TIME. I look forward to my commutes. If I had a 997 GT2, I'd need plastic surgery to wipe off the ****-eating-permagrin.
