08 GT2 0r keep my 08 Turbo

Looking at a deal for a 08 GT2. 5K miles $159K. My trade in is a 08 Turbo Cab, 21K miles. Think I should go for it and where do you think the numbers should be? Remember...the new GT2's will be out shortly and the 08's might drop like a hot rock.
Thanks

Are you going to track the car? There are a handful on cars.com in the 140s-150s. It appears the prices may have firmed up a bit, I got mine for 165 last november w/ 400 miles on it.

Not going to track it. Will be my daily driver. Dealer wants to give me $91K for my Cab. You do the math. Seems like the delta is way North. Thoughts?

Do it, but you will need another DD.

It is definitely not worth $68K more than your cab, esp. as a DD only.

I would not use depreciation as a measure of value for the 997 GT2.

1. Doubtful there will be a 997.2 GT2...it would have been announced before the GT2 RS (which is now available in insanely limited allocations.)

2. If there is a 997.2 GT2, it will likely be in very limited quantities - look at the 996 GT2 for reference.

Instead, ask yourself what the intent of the change will be - while the 997 GT2 is more comfortable than the 996 GT2 as a daily driver, it is still pretty unforgiving. Yes there is an available stereo, A/C, PCM navigation, however, it's suspension is much harsher than the TT and something to consider if you intend to use it daily.

Only you can know what is right for you, but IMHO, if you aren't going to track it, that's a lot of money for the bragging rights. The turbo has more than enough performance for the street and will be a more comfortable DD.

I was in a similar boat as you, was looking at GT3s and TTs, but was always planning on at least a little track time. I picked up the GT2 since I got a decent price and the FI engine is a lot more fun on the street than a GT3 and the TT was a little soft for me. That said, if I was going for a strictly street car, I'd go TT all the way, as now that I've been on the track w/ the GT2 I plan on making it more of a 50/50 track car. So bottom line, this is my recommendation:

100% street: TT.
100% track: GT3.
Combination street/track: GT2.

Thanks for the input. Based on what i've heard and the intended use, i'll probably hold on to my TT. Just as an FYI....i had a 03 996 GT2. I loved the car however, it just never had the feel and handling of a regular Porsche. I've owned a lot of them and so far the 08 TT is the moat fun and best daily driver i've owned.
Thanks again.

The yellow GT2 at park place is beautiful. I think cc08gt2 from the boards may know a little more about the car.
