Well for me it was a simple choice. Use a fast tire the you can win with (NASA TTS Class) that has enough people in the field to get free tires. If all I did was DE type track days I would Find something that last longer too. Hell I would run Wally World tires if I could win my class and they had a contingency program. For me it's all about free tires, that's it.

You will love them but you definitely run through a set a lot quicker than the sport cups

Ran em for 2 days at a DE in the Dallas area. Will post pics in another thread. My initial reaction is they stick like glue. I could hold the track and scrub around corners pretty good. Passed every single car on the track, which is a testament to the car itself. I don't see them lasting much longer, if at all. That part is a disappointment, but I have to weigh that against the sticky enjoyment.

Yah, sticker hoosiers are definitely fun! And the lap times come down as well! But, only the first 2 days are like velcro on the track and are awesome. The next 2 days and they will start to degrade to ice. Wait 'till next event! Put another way, there is nothing like a set of sticker hoosiers to mask driving errors. And there is nothing like dead hoosiers to unmask it doh!

That being said, if you can drive on worn hoosiers and TC off, then you are definitely not a rookie.

Hey Chuck,

I run them on my C6Z track car! You will enjoy the extra grip...

Let me know if I need to come chase you down at the track

This is a great point. You have to decide what your goals are and choose a tired accordingly. Hoosier has the best contingency program for time trial and racing so it's the goto tired for club racing.

I will throw one more curveball out there that may not be as popular. I think one of biggest mistakes many drivers make is switching to hooosiers and slick tires too quickly, before really exploring the limits of the car and the driver first. At most of the DE events I attend, I see car after car on Hoosiers turning really slow laps, with strange lines and way to early braking. If your car feels like it's cornering on rails you aren't driving it anywhere near it's limits. Sometimes a tire with less grip is a much better training tool. NT-01's are a great tire but still allows the car to move around a bit at moderate speeds and is a great example of a longer lasting track tire.

Come on down! I have yet to be chased down by anyone, let alone a vette, but hey, you are the stud man. And I suck at driving.

Not a curve ball at all, 100% correct! Biggest mistake is people mod there cars and switch tires before they are at the current limits of the car. While their times get faster, their skills stay stagnant and the mods only hide their mistakes.

On a GT3/RS hoosier are only good until about 8-10 HC (sweet spot 2-6HC). They will cord at 12-14HCs. If you get anymore life out of them, your not driving hard enough

Thanks for the input guys. I'm not a fan of them right now, but it is tied to their life. I had 8 sessions, and I'm almost sure they are gone. I prefer the MPSC's due to how long they last. I am doing this for fun and not to win. If I was racing, Hoosiers are a no brainer. Car ran on rails and slid controllably when I hammered down or did a trail brake.
